INDUSTRY’S FIRST ‘BABY DATA ASSISTANT’ HELPS PARENTS MANAGE BABIES’ SCHEDULES
— Mom-founded company introduces solution to track and recall babies’ medication, feeding, sleeping routines —
ABC EXPO 2008, Las Vegas, Nev. — September 7, 2008 — A new time management tool — one that helps parents monitor babies’ schedules and communicate with caregivers and doctors — is now available from newly formed ChicksWithKidz™. The bizzyBee™ is the industry’s first baby data assistant (BDA) that records, recalls and reminds parents of a week’s worth of a baby’s medication, sleep and feeding schedules. This helps to minimize stress and maximize safety when managing a baby’s schedule.
Designed by two moms with a parent’s needs in mind, the bizzyBee responds to the concerns of parents from all walks of life — from working moms and dads to busy at-home caregivers.
“All parents face similar challenges when it comes to caring for a new baby and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the details,” said Kirsten Knull, co-founder of ChicksWithKidz. “We created the bizzyBee to easily track, record and store data crucial to a baby’s wellness. That way parents can focus on enjoying the time they spend with their children, instead of worrying about when the little one last ate, slept or took his medication. And it makes it easier than ever for working parents to stay in tune with what’s happening at home while they’re away.”
Knull and her co-founder, Katie West, drew from parenting challenges they had faced in their own lives, in addition to feedback from moms and hospitals, during the bizzyBee’s research and development process.
Alarm function and data recall
Designed to be used for one baby, the bizzyBee features three separate modes to easily monitor a baby’s medication, sleep and feeding schedules.
To ensure a baby receives medication on time, every time, the bizzyBee is equipped with alarms to alert parents when to give their baby medicine. Invaluable to parents of chronically ill infants, or babies on intermittent doses of antibiotics, the bizzyBee allows parents to enter and track the names and dosing times for up to six medications. This is crucial to help prevent the possibility of an overdose.
Programmed to remember a week’s worth of a baby’s activity, the bizzyBee also helps monitor and establish routines for feedings and sleep patterns. This improves communication between parent and caregiver, and helps set, track and maintain routines while the parent is away. For long-term monitoring, mom or dad can upload information from the bizzyBee to the computer to view trends and share information with a pediatrician. Additional items, such as height, weight and vaccine information, are also easy to include in a personalized diary.
Manufactured in the U.S., the bizzyBee is phthalate-free and comes in packaging formulated from recyclable materials. The bizzyBee weighs just 6.5 ounces and conveniently clips to a diaper bag or a parent’s belt. It comes encased in a variety of colored elastomeric housings — yellow bee, green turtle and red ladybug — that are not only “top-rack” dishwasher safe, but also serve to reflect a parent’s personal style and protect the device.
The bizzyBee has a suggested retail price of $149.95. It will be available in independent retail stores starting in January 2009. Pre-orders are now being accepted. Visit www.chickswithkidz.com to purchase online or to find a retailer near you.

ABC Kids Expo News
As any sleep-deprived new mom will tell you…a new mom can barely remember her own name, let alone the next time medication is due or which breast she fed from last. That’s why I was excited that at the ABC Kids Expo last week, ChicksWithKidzs introduced their first product, the bizzyBee. The bizzyBee is a new time management tool to help busy parents monitor their babies’ schedules and communicate with caregivers and doctors.
“We created the bizzyBee to easily track, record and store data crucial to baby’s wellness,” said Kirsten Knull, co-founder of ChicksWithKidz. “That way parents can focus on enjoying the time they spend with their children, instead of worrying about when the little one last ate, slept or took his medication. And it makes it easier than every for working parents to stay in tune with what’s happening at home while they’re away.”
The bizzyBee records and reminds parents of a week’s worth of a baby’s medication, sleep and feeding schedules. This handheld device can even sync up with your computer to download the information to view trends and track information for a pediatrician. It features alarms to remind you to medicate on time, every time. It can record sleep schedules to monitor and establish sleep routines and record feedings by breast or bottle. It will even remind you which breast you fed from last. How great is that!
The bizzyBee weighs just 6.5 ounces and can conveniently clips to a diaper bag or a parent’s belt. It will be available in independent retail stores and online in January 2009. For more information, visit www.ChicksWithKidz.com.
